Until you can confirm that you have Bed Bugs, whether that is one day, one week or several weeks, you are still going to be bitten by Bed Bugs. You Will Still Be Getting MORE BED BUG BITES! And if it is a female Bed Bug, that means more Bed Bug eggs!
Once you confirm they are, in fact, Bed Bugs, you will have to decide on how you are going to get rid of your Bed Bugs.
There are really only 3 choices:
Self-treat with store bought OTC (Over the Counter) chemicals. Despite their claims, most are not effective at all unless you spray the Bed Bug directly with enough chemical to practically drown them. You will not be able to treat any Bed Bugs or Bed Bug eggs that you can’t see or that are hiding in your mattress, box spring, bed frame or your walls.
Do nothing and hope the Bed Bugs go away. Or, learn to live with them, killing the few you see every day, until there are so many you just cannot take it any longer!
Call a Bed Bug Professional to Kill the Bed Bugs. Professionals will use a variety of ways to get rid of the Bed Bugs. Some methods are Chemical (stronger than OTC), Steam, Freezing, Vacuuming and Heat Treatments. Every method has some degree of success, but most are still not 100% effective and will require multiple visits over several weeks to Kill the Bed Bugs. The only method that is 100% effective is a Bed Bug Heat Treatment, which usually takes only 1 day.
